Important Notice for All Club Room Users
Please be aware before clearing app data, factory resetting your headset, formatting your device, or switching to a new different headset, new or old, that you check your Meta Cloud Backups are up to date first.
This is a Quest-wide feature that applies to many apps and games — not just Club Room.
First, identify the source headset.
This is the headset where the latest CLUB ROOM data that you WANT TO KEEP is currently stored.
Then identify the receiving headset.
This is the headset you WANT THE DATA TO GO TO.
Do not install or open CLUB ROOM on the receiving headset yet.
1 Back up CLUB ROOM from the source headset. go to: Settings → General → Cloud Backup
Make sure Cloud Backup is turned ON.

Please note: simply turning Cloud Backup on is not enough on its own.
Backups happen periodically rather than at set times or every day, so recent changes may not always be included straight away.
Once you have enabled cloud backup, scroll through your apps and simply tick the box next for any apps you want to include in your backup.
This tells Meta to back up the local state of these selected apps at this current time.

2 Confirm the backup has been completed.
Check Meta’s Cloud Backups page here https://secure.oculus.com/my/cloud-backup/ and make sure the backup:
-
Is listed under the correct headset.
-
Shows the latest date and time.
-
Was created after you last used CLUB ROOM.
Do not continue until you have confirmed that the correct data has been backed up. Meta keeps a separate CLUB ROOM backup history for each headset.

Cloud Backup is specifically used for locally stored data on your headset, including things like: -
- Personal settings (e.g. snap turn / smooth turn, movement speed).
- Locally stored inventory placement inside rooms.
- The position and state of items you have placed or pulled out in your spaces.
- Other non-server data stored directly on the headset by the app.
This data is separate from your account data and is handled by Meta’s backup system.
Club Room stores all important account data directly on our servers, including:
- Coin balance
- Inventory ownership
- Spaces
- Friends and blocked users
These items are stored on CLUB ROOM's servers and are not affected by headset changes or resets.
IMPORTANT: Next choose the instructions that apply to you.
If you are using the same headset
If you are reinstalling CLUB ROOM or factory resetting the same headset, do not delete the confirmed CLUB ROOM backup listed under that headset.
This is the backup Meta will need to restore your data.
-
If you are only reinstalling CLUB ROOM, uninstall it and then continue to Step 5.
-
If you are factory resetting the headset, complete the factory reset and then continue to Step 5.
If you are moving your data to a different headset
Continue to Step 3.
3 Uninstall CLUB ROOM from the receiving headset.
This step only applies if CLUB ROOM is already installed on the receiving headset. If CLUB ROOM has never been installed on the receiving headset, skip to Step 5.
4 NEXT Clear old CLUB ROOM Cloud Backups listed under the receiving headset only.
This step only applies when moving your data onto a different headset that has previously had CLUB ROOM installed.
Do not delete any CLUB ROOM restore points listed under the source headset containing the data you want to keep. YOU MUST BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL when deleting stored data points on your meta account via their website. YOU MUST ENSURE you have the correct headset selected (the receiving headset) and you are deleting only the data listed under CLUB ROOM.
CLUB ROOM WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOSS OF DATA STORED ON YOUR META HEADSET OR ACCOUNT.
Once the receiving headset’s old backups have been removed, select the source headset again and confirm that the correct recent CLUB ROOM backup is still listed.
5 Install CLUB ROOM on the receiving headset.
Once you have confirmed that the correct backup is still listed under the source headset, install CLUB ROOM on the receiving headset using the same Meta account.
Meta should restore the most recent available CLUB ROOM backup during installation.
Allow the installation and restore process to finish completely before opening CLUB ROOM.
Once installed, open CLUB ROOM and check that your latest settings, room layouts and placed items have been restored correctly.
DISCLAIMER
While Meta Cloud Backup is the best available system for protecting locally stored headset data, it is still managed by Meta and runs on a periodic schedule. Because of this, we cannot guarantee that every recent change will always be included in the latest backup. For this reason, this is the safest recommended way to reduce the risk of losing data when resetting or changing devices — but it should not be considered a perfect or real-time backup system. We are sharing this to help users avoid unnecessary data loss across Quest apps and devices.
CLUB ROOM WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOSS OF DATA STORED ON YOUR META HEADSET OR ACCOUNT.
